Durga: Mother, warrior and the dance of shadow and light
HOW TO APPLY THE LESSONS FROM DURGA’S ARCHETYPE AND MYTHOLOGY IN YOUR PRACTICE AND YOUR LIFE!
Join me for a free masterclass this weekend, exploring Durga’s symbolism and mythology, also inclusive of a practice to unlock this powerful energy. Bring your journal and pen, bring your mat for practice. Also bring your open mind and a sense of curiosity and play.

WHY THE GODDESS DURGA?
The goddess, Durga, is an important figure in the Shakta tradition. She’s a mother, a warrior and a fierce protector of dharma. In mythology, she often appears as a demon slayer.
What do these demons represent? Our shadow. What is she fighting to restore? Our light.
Not only is Durga a fierce mother, she’s also a key figure in the Devi Mahatmyam, a 6th century text and, in fact, the first (within the Tantric tradition) to formally place ‘the goddess’ at the center of spiritual practice.
Archetypes like hers can be powerful tools for transformation. By exploring them, we unlock their energies in our own lives.
What we'll cover together in this free masterclass...
- An introduction to the deities of the Tantric tradition (generally) and to Durga (specifically)
- An exploration of how the energies of the deities (generally) and Durga (specifically) can be experienced in your own personality, in society, in the natural and in your spiritual practice
- Guidance for how you can explore Durga's energy in your own life (including where that relationship feels comfortable, and where it might feel more confronting)
- A direct experience of her energy through a complete practice (inclusive of asana, pranayama and meditation).
