About me

Women’s Wellbeing Coach, Yoga Teacher and Yoga Teacher Trainer.

Discover my journey to how I now empower women with Yoga’s ancient teachings and philosophy to transform their lives from the inside out…

My moment of clarity came on a trip to Bali.

"It's yoga"... I quit my PhD, resigned from my job and gave myself over to a path I had no blueprint for.

Today I think of it as a leap of faith.
At the time it felt like a tumble into an abyss...

It was the best decision I ever made

My Mission

I believe that when we are empowered to trust, surrender and take that leap of faith to discover/explore our ‘grand vision’ it allows us to uncover our true potential and connect with our ‘inner wisdom’ so that we can live authentically and experience a truly sacred life.

I am here to empower you to unearth your true potential, embrace the power of surrender, attune to your innate power and gracefully embrace your authentic sacred life.

I was afraid of what others might think of my choice so I spent a lot of time living in what Ram Dass beautifully described as a too-tight shoe. I WAS RELIEVED TO TAKE IT OFF. For many of us, the thing that stands in the way of where we are now and where we want to be is our conditioning internalised as self-defeating mental chatter.

On the outside, I was ticking all the boxes, but internally I knew that there was more out there for me...

MY STORY

My first love was classical ballet. It gave me my first taste of conscious movement. I trained in it for 14 years. During this time, I also started to read books on philosophy. They were full of big questions, as was I: Why am I here? What’s my purpose? What is the meaning of my existence?

I didn’t realise at the time that the books on philosophy and years of ballet were paving my way to yoga’s door. It was some time before I dedicated my life to yoga. Actually, in my early career I was a university lecturer. I taught International Security studies and studied for a Ph.D. in Civil Aviation Safety and Security (Pretty niche, huh?!)

It was on a trip to Bali that the penny dropped.

I REALISED THAT WHAT I'D BEEN LOOKING FOR HAD BEEN UNDER MY NOSE THE WHOLE TIME (ISN'T THAT SO OFTEN THE WAY?). YOGA WAS ‘MY THING'. I WENT HOME, QUIT MY JOB, RESIGNED FROM MY STUDIES AND TOOK A LEAP OF FAITH...

As humans, we are all searching for meaning, self-acceptance, and connection to something bigger. When we come to yoga, our mat practice is a first step. Beyond that, if we want to dive into these questions more deeply, we need to explore further.

Yoga's system of psychology and philosophy is as deep as it is wide. It's deeply personal in the way it navigates these questions, and It's my mission to share it with you!

The system of Samkhya philosophy (from which yoga takes its leave) contains within it a beautiful, and ultimately really empowering, principle - mahad:
'The grand idea of you.'

It's the seed, ideal or archetypal form of each of us and the first inkling anything has of its uniqueness. Importantly, it teaches that we each have a unique role to play in the unfoldment of the universe. That feeling - that there's a grander vision for your life - that's mahad. Your job is not to determine its worth. Your job is to express it.
What I've now come to understand about traditional practice is that it's both a science and an art. It's a science because it contains within it verifiable techniques that will (if we commit to them) transform our lives, unearth our potential and lead us, ultimately, to freedom.

IT’S AN ART BECAUSE ITS ABILITY TO REVEAL LIFE’S MYSTERIES RESTS ON OUR WILLINGNESS TO TRUST THOSE PRACTICES AND SURRENDER TO THE JOURNEY. THIS IS WHAT OPENS US TO AN EXPERIENCE OF LIFE AS SACRED.

It's in this spirit that I offer these teachings and coaching to you.

client love

"I am loving Yoga and the Mind. It has come at the perfect time. The resources and information has given me so much to learn.

I feel that, because of this course, I’m better able to explain big ideas to my students, and actually teach the students in front of me so they get more out of their journey."

Lauren, Yoga & The Mind Student

"Studying with Karina for over three years now, this three month mentoring was a blessing as she accompanied me on my next stage on my yoga practice as well as career. With the right questions, the right stories and enough space in between she helped me to make magic happen. It is always such a sweet experience to learn from Karina. For everyone who feels stuck, I highly recommend mentoring with KG!

UTE, Coaching Client

"Karina is my compass in this very confusing yoga world. I live on the other side of the world but she has always been there when I needed her.

It is amazing to have a teacher who is so knowledgeable and also has an amazing way of sharing her knowledge. She never uses mystical language to create an illusion of ‘yogicness’. She is a genuine yogi, walking her path, continuously questioning and expanding.

I am very proud to be trained by her and I am still seeking ways to learn from her."

Zeynep, Teacher Training Student
